speedtest.net: my destiny rocks my socks

I noticed lately that My destiny’s speed become stable since the last earthquake in Taiwan. I mean, i’ve been checking it once in awhile to see if there is a change in download and upload speed but luckily it stays on the range of 2000 - 2400 kb/s for the download speed and 300-400 kb/s for the upload speed which is above average compared to our areas speed and other ISPs.

Downloading using torrent client is faster than before, It usually takes me 2 hours to download an entire movie (750mb or higher) during off peak hours. Direct downloads is fair enough. However, I have not tried online games for like months so I couldn’t say if its good or is still lagging.

Tomorrow I’ll be doing a series of speed tests to see if my destiny’s connection has become stable and I will post the screenshots here.

Kudos to My destiny cable internet Team for a job well done, though it took them months to stabilize the connections. Teehe!

At last! I got the chance to post / edit this entry… Anyway, the reason why i haven’t updated this blog is that I am uber busy with some stuff(well not really It’s just that I am uber lazy to post something).

What’s with the title, eh?

Ahm yeah, recently there’s this guy who thought of something really nice that would make a difference(if that’s the right word) in the blogosphere. I joined the bandwagon and fortunately made it to the 2000 bloggers.

What’s with the 2000 bloggers?

Ahm I really don’t know. haha… You can get free links and more readers and hopefully online friends(lovers :D).

So yeah.

What’s my plan?

Nothing really. Or maybe I should visit their blogs and meet the bloggers behind those blogs.. Coolness! :D

Can I join?

Of course you can! I don’t know if there’s still room for you but you can try by leaving a comment there. Good luck!

Hide My Ass! Surf Anonymously

It’s been a week since a quake hit Taiwan causing internet connection problems over Asia. Last Friday, Our MyDestiny connection was back but it’s slow and other sites are inaccessible like friendster and youtube. It’s really depressing and frustrating when you can’t visit sites you often visit and like. So I decided to look for an anonymous proxy. Luckily, I found this really nice site called Hide my Ass. Hidemyass allows its users to browse anonymously. Compared to other types of this web app, Hide My Ass is much faster and its feature is not limited though a pop up ads appears once in a while.

Anyways, Just yesterday, MyDestiny has an Advisory which explains why other sites are inaccesible.

To Our Most Valued Subscriber,

First of all, we would like to thank you for your continued interest in our
services.

We would also like to advise that our International Private Link (IPL) Provider
has blocked certain sites to free up some bandwidth. Here are the blocked sites:

www.friendster.com
www.revver.com
www.movies.com
www.download.com
www.apple.com
www.youtube.com
www.quicktime.com

This is ONLY temporary. We will advise you as soon as we possibly can when the
said sites are up.

Again, thank you very much and Happy New Year.

Very Truly Yours,

John Luke Q. Chica

I hope this works for you, it’s been my friend since that problem occured.

Update: Can’t browse even those local sites. WTF…

Argh… That Internet Breakdown sucks my socks.. LOL

To Our Most Valued Subscriber,

Please be informed that as of 10:00AM today December 27, 2006, different IPL
Links experienced multiple submarine cable breakdowns due to an earthquake in
Taiwan which resulted to temporarily loss of Internet connection. However we can
still access the locally hosted sites.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience, we will for sure keep you posted for the
update as to when the connection will be restored.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely Yours,

Mydestiny Broadband Internet

I received that mail yesterday. Yes I can go online but I can’t access most of the sites I visit frequently. I can browse those locally hosted sites including Level-up games, e-games, oh yeah Mydestiny, sites I don’t really visit. I can’t check my mail, can’t log on YM… Great!

Today, I still don’t have a nice connection. Why? I don’t know what happened to MyDestiny or what they’re doing to restore the connection. Luckily, I have this dial up account. PLDT and Bayantel are working fine, how come mydestiny is not?

Oh yah, I can’t get through their Customer Care line…

If you already have windows media player 11, then you’ll know how Royale Noir looked like. haha… I don’t know, I’m speechless. I just love it.

You can download it here
