Why PLDT sucks?

It has been 3 years since we had our telephone connected through PLDT and for three years their service is as smooth as their ass. But ever since we transferred to our new rented house, problems occured to our line.

1. No electricity, no dial tone.

Yes! I don’t know what happened but are PLDT lines and Meralco lines the same? BS! What if there is an emergency or something but we can’t use our phone because there’s no dial tone? the hell is that?!

2. No dial tone every other day or sometimes everyday.

Yes! My friend asked me if our line has been cut off because she couldn’t call us in our landline. I said, that’s impossible because I’ve already paid the bills and that they haven’t issued us a disconnection notice yet. But to my surprise, when i tried calling someone, our phone does not have a dial tone.

3. They’ll call to ask if we already have a bill and to pay immediately.

Haha! this one’s really funny. They would actually call you and remind you to pay your bill. But they would not ask if you are experiencing something wrong about your landline or whatever it is.

4. Complain and ye shall not receive. LOL

When it comes to billing, PLDT will hunt you. They will seek for yer money and remind you to pay your bills. But when you complain and ask for their service or support, they’d hide and It’ll take them years before they know what the problem is.

5. They’ll offer you a new service, and your bill will get higher.

haha, They will activate a service on you account and after that you would not notice your telephone bill will double.

Anyways, maybe it’s just me.

How about you? Do you have complains regarding PLDT?

At last! I got the chance to post / edit this entry… Anyway, the reason why i haven’t updated this blog is that I am uber busy with some stuff(well not really It’s just that I am uber lazy to post something).

What’s with the title, eh?

Ahm yeah, recently there’s this guy who thought of something really nice that would make a difference(if that’s the right word) in the blogosphere. I joined the bandwagon and fortunately made it to the 2000 bloggers.

What’s with the 2000 bloggers?

Ahm I really don’t know. haha… You can get free links and more readers and hopefully online friends(lovers :D).

So yeah.

What’s my plan?

Nothing really. Or maybe I should visit their blogs and meet the bloggers behind those blogs.. Coolness! :D

Can I join?

Of course you can! I don’t know if there’s still room for you but you can try by leaving a comment there. Good luck!

Update: Can’t browse even those local sites. WTF…

Argh… That Internet Breakdown sucks my socks.. LOL

To Our Most Valued Subscriber,

Please be informed that as of 10:00AM today December 27, 2006, different IPL
Links experienced multiple submarine cable breakdowns due to an earthquake in
Taiwan which resulted to temporarily loss of Internet connection. However we can
still access the locally hosted sites.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience, we will for sure keep you posted for the
update as to when the connection will be restored.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely Yours,

Mydestiny Broadband Internet

I received that mail yesterday. Yes I can go online but I can’t access most of the sites I visit frequently. I can browse those locally hosted sites including Level-up games, e-games, oh yeah Mydestiny, sites I don’t really visit. I can’t check my mail, can’t log on YM… Great!

Today, I still don’t have a nice connection. Why? I don’t know what happened to MyDestiny or what they’re doing to restore the connection. Luckily, I have this dial up account. PLDT and Bayantel are working fine, how come mydestiny is not?

Oh yah, I can’t get through their Customer Care line…

Import posts and comments from another system to Wordpress

Wordpress 2 has this uber cool feature called Import; it helps us import posts and comments from another system to wordpress. You can choose a system to import from blogger, textpatter, RSS and Movable type.

I haven’t really tried using this feature but CJ have used it successfully. She transferred all her posts and comments from her blogger account to wordpress. I was so happy that it worked well.

Kudos to Wordpress team for creating such a great feature.

Why use Gravatars?

I’ve been blogging for almost a year and most blogsites that I often visit have these. I thought of making an entry on why bloggers should use gravatars in their blogs.

What is a gravatar?

According to Wordpress Codex:

Gravatars are Globally Recognized Avatars. An avatar or gravatar is an icon, or representation, of a user in a shared virtual reality, such as a forum, chat, website, or any other form of online community in which the user(s) wish to have something to distinguish themselves from other users. Created by Tom Werner, gravatars make it possible for a person to have one avatar across the entire web. Avatars are usually an 80px by 80px image that the user will create themselves.

A Gravatar is essentially the same thing, but they are all hosted on a single server and are called up by encrypting the users’ email address via the MD5 algorithm. So instead of having one avatar on one forum you visit, and another at a blog you visit, you could have the same avatar at both.

Why use Gravatars?

You can visit gravatar.com for more info. And you can download the gravatar-sign up plugin here, it allows commenters to sign up gor gravatar by checking the checkbox and filling in the desired password.
