Learning PHP

A few months ago, I had a little chat with khats(she’s a friend from high school) in YM. I forgot how we ended up talking about web stuff. What I still remember is that I volunteered to create their website. The reason why I volunteered is that I wanted to sharpen my skills in web designing and also it will be a good reference when I finish school.

I’m done with the interface but the back end is still in the process. I’ve used JSP several times for my school project and ASP.NET for my OJT project but I’m really a newbie in PHP. We had a project in my Modeling and Simulation class and we were asked to create an e-learning system, we used PHP but then I didn’t really cooperate well. Now, I’m stuck here downloading ebooks and learning PHP.

I really hate this because the fact that I’m already graduating, yeah I’m currently finishing my thesis for me to graduate, yet I still don’t have that much of a knowledge. Poor me. While everyone is busy sharpening their skills in programming, I am here like a baby trying to walk or say my very first few lines of code.

Through my entire college life I’ve learned how to study on my own. School sucks big time, professors doesn’t really teach you new things. They are just there to fail you and kick your ass. I learned ASP.NET on my own, and I used it to create an Online Inventory System. I’ve learned that school isn’t there to spoon-feed us, but they are just to guide us and give us those failing grades hehe.

Oh yeah, enough of that. About the project, I have to create a mini-simple-CMS. It’s a website for the student council of their college, UP(diliman) NCPAG. I hope I could finish it this Wednesday because there are a lot of things that I have to finish. I have to finish my thesis in time because I want to graduate and have a decent job so I could earn a lot of money and eat a lot. My parents reduced my allowance to 50% and that sucks big time. Oh hate this, I need to work and make money.

Oops. It’s already 4:00am and I still got loads to do but can’t because I need food and energize my system. I’ll just take a nap and then buy some food for breakfast and continue working.
