Laptop

School started to be complicated last year as I entered my third and hopefully last term of my college days, I mean for the mean time. I do have plans for taking up Masters degree but my goal for now is to finish this course that I’m taking now.

I’ve posted an entry before ranting about how difficult it is for a Computer Science student of not having his/her own laptop. And it’s on the top of my wish list last year. So, what now?

Well, Exactly two weeks ago I received a text message from my father asking if I’ve already read his mail and telling me that he already bought a laptop. Now the problem is that my father is in Saudi, well door-to-door as we all know is a bit expensive so the much cheaper way is to ask someone (an officemate or family friend) who’s returning in the Philippines if he/she could carry it. If not then I’m going to wait till March.

Anyway, It’s a Toshiba Satellite L20-149. It costs 3590 Riyals, 1riyal = 15 pesos (I think). It has Intel Centrino mobile technology including Intel® Pentium® M processor 740, Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200BG network connection and Intel® 915GM Express chipset, a clock speed of 1.73 GHz, 512MB RAM, 40GB HDD, CD-RW/DVD-ROM, 15” XGA TFT display and etc etc etc.

I’ll make a review of it when it’s already here.

Now I’m hoping that someone will go back here in the Philippines so I could get the laptop and use it for our projects this term. We have to make a simulation movie, a report about Microsoft Project, and an e learning for our Modeling and simulation class. Then we have to create an online faculty evaluation using JSP technology and MySQL, and for our thesis and other stuff.
