Dec 17 2005 - I inquire about PLDT DSL PLAN 999

Dec 18 2005 - Received an email from pldt customer service providing a basic information regarding PLDT DSL plan 999 service

Dec 19 2005 - I fill up the form which is included in the email they send the other day.

Dec 20 2005 - then i got this

We are pleased to inform you that your application for myDSL service is now under process. Our DSL Team is now pre-qualifying your line to be able to determine if the telephone number you have provided is DSL capable. We will keep you posted on further developments.

Jan 3 2006 - After a long long time, still got no info or news regarding our application so i decided to email them again.

Jan 5 2006 - I received this mail

We regret to inform you that activating a DSL Connection with the use of your PLDT Landline is not possible due to technical limitations.

As an alternative solution, we are offering you a wireless connection that will utilize airwaves thru an antenna to give DSL access to your home.

We are pleased to provide you with the basic information regarding PLDT’s myDSL-W Service:

PLDT myDSL-W is a broadband internet connection that runs on a fixed wireless solution to serve areas that don’t have DSL copper facilities.
The service is made possible by installing a PLDT myDSL-W antenna (also known as CPE – Customer Premises Equipment) at the home with a direct “line-of-site” to the nearest Smart cell site offering the strongest possible radio frequency transmission that gives customers the same speed that a copper connection provides.

What the hell. We’ve waited for so long, I mean they didn’t even call us to inform that our line is not possible coz of that technical limitations. They didn’t even pointed out what are those. I don’t know why. A lot of internet shops here in our area have those yellow thing with powered by PLDT myDSL, and yet our place is not covered. What the f*ck!

I think they’re just promoting their sort of wireless broadband. I don’t know how this one works and I’ve red a lot of complaints about smart wifi and pldt dsl-w. Hehe Been thinking if we’ll still continue to apply for a dsl. grrrr…
